"Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty."
— Henry Ford

Your age might make you physically old, but it's a lack of learning that makes you mentally old.

Keep learning and you will stay forever young.

"Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds up to be."
— Abraham Lincoln

Happiness is a state of mind.

Decide to be happy and you will be happy.

"Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more you sweat, the luckier you get."

— Ray Kroc

Every time you try, you have another chance to get lucky. Thus, the harder you work the luckier you get.

Calculating your chances of winning, if you have a 1% chance to win on each attempt:

  • 1 attempt = 1 - (0.99)^1 = 1%

  • 5 attempts = 1 - (0.99)^5 = 5%

  • 10 attempts = 1 - (0.99)^10 = 9.6%

  • 50 attempts = 1 - (0.99)^50 = 39.5%

  • 100 attempts = 1 - (0.99)^100 = 63.4%

  • 500 attempts = 1 - (0.99)^500 = 99.3%

  • 1000 attempts = 1 - (0.99)^1000 ~= 100%
