Super Quotes #18 — Sweet moments of life, achieving excellence, and being responsible
Sweet moments of life (John Keats), achieving excellence (Vince Lombardi), and being responsible (Theodore Roosevelt).
“Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard are sweeter.”
— John Keats, English Poet
There are many beautiful things in the world to hear, see, and experience through your physical senses. But the sweetest, greatest, and most beautiful moments of life are those that you feel on the inside, deep in your heart.
Such sweet moments can only be felt when you experience strong feelings like genuine love and happiness. If you want to live a great life, those are the types of experiences you must seek.
“Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.”
— Vince Lombardi, NFL Coach
It is impossible to be perfect in any aspect of life whether it be career, fitness, finances, relationships, or your accomplishments. No matter how great you perform, there will always be something more you can do or improve on.
But even though you can’t fully reach it, you should still strive for perfection. Doing so motivates you to try your best and push out of your comfort zone. It may not get you to perfection, but it will bring you to an excellent place in life.
“If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn't sit for a month.”
— Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President of the United States
It’s easy to blame your lack of success on external things — circumstances, luck, other people, or whatever else. But at the end of the day, you are the one who’s driving it all. YOU are making your own choices, actions, and mindset. By extension, YOU are the only person in the world who can make your life successful.
This should be a comforting thought. It means that you’re fully in control and can build the life that you want, as long as you have the will to do so.
